Fort Collins, CO – This campground is very nice and family friendly. The sites are large and have level cement pads. They offer a range of sites including patio and jacuzzi sites. This is a “destination” KOA, meaning a family can come here and keep busy for their entire visit. They offer Paddleboats, Bumper Boats, Miniature Golf, Volleyball, Arcade Games, Catch & Release Fishing, Jumping Pillows, Bicycles, and more. They have seasonal breakfast, Hunt Brothers Pizza and weekend activities.
We use this campground to prepare for longer trips. We hook-up, make sure everything is working, and then load for trips with the slides out. It is a nicer facility than the nearby Wellington KOA, though further from I-25. We have not had opportunity to try the amenities. Next time we want to allow extra time to try out the bird paddleboats!
For families looking for a vacation spot, this is the place. This campground is located approximately 1 hour from Rocky Mountain National Park. Lory State Park and Horsetooth Mountain Park are nearby as well as Larimer County Open Space areas with hiking. Fort Collins offers a wide range of restaurants and shopping options. Fishing is available on the nearby Cache La Poudre River. Roosevelt National Park and Pawnee Grasslands are also nearby.
We have read reviews on other sites that describes staff here as difficult, but the several times we have been here we have not had any negative interactions.
