Well, we did it! The house is sold and the RV is packed. We need to wrap up a few things here in Fort Collins and then we depart Friday on our new life. It’s hard to imagine less then two months ago we were thinking about going full time:

March 28 – Make decision to go full-time
April 20 –  Buy new RV and start moving in
April 27 –  List house on the market
May 1 – Accept offer on house
May 19 – Close on house

So, where to? We’re headed to Black Hills of South Dakota first, for about 10 days. Then on to Yellowstone, Craters of the Moon National Park, Missoula, MT and Salt Lake City. Then we return to Fort Collins in mid July for a 2 week visit by my parents. After that we plan to spend the rest of the summer in Montana and Idaho, working our way west to Eugene, OR by early October for the solar install.

We will then be back in Fort Collins for about a month, spending time at our cabin and enjoying a visit with Karla’s brother and nephew. Then we’re off to the east coast, with a stop in Nappanee, IN for a 6 month punch list resolution at Newmar (there are always problems with an RV, you can literally plan for them). We’ll spend a few weeks in November visiting family in both Lancaster, PA and Manassas, VA before heading south for the winter.

We’ll again rendezvous with my parents in Fort Myers/Sanibel Island in mid December, then we’re off to the Keys for a few weeks. We have a number of ideas for the rest of winter, we haven’t settled on one yet: we could slowly work our way along the gulf coast, visiting states we’ve never RV’d in; we’d like to visit the Texas hill country; also on the list is Big Bend National Park; and we’re eager to return to both New Mexico and Arizona. We have to be back in Fort Collins by April, but other than that we’re open.
