Buffalo, WY – A great campground, even if you do have to drive though the (corner) of a Hampton Inn parking lot. The grounds are clean and well-manicured, the sites are large and easy to negotiate, the owners are friendly and the location is close to I-25, but not too close. There is a local park adjoining the one side of the campground. We used this as a base to hike in the Bighorn Mountains.

Another great feature is the ability to walk, in only 5 minutes, to a great Steakhouse, the Winchester Steakhouse. If you’re like us you try to avoiding unhooking your toad if not necessary, so the ability to walk to restaurants from your site is a huge bonus. The French Onion Soup is the bomb here.
