Creede, CO – A very large, sprawling RV park near the town of Creede, CO, just above the Rio Grande River, with views in all directions of, as the name implies, mountains. This campground has two sides, a park side and a resort side. We stayed on the RV park side. This is an ok park, albeit dusty (all roads and sites are gravel) and loud (UTVs are commonly stored on site and driven directly from the park). There is no cable TV and and wifi was only usable during off periods (before 7 AM, after 11 PM). The sewer hookup was the furthest away from the RV I’ve ever seen, a full 25’ (yes, I measured it). This RV park is located right next to an airport, and our site was in the corner closest to it.

On the positive side, the mountain views really are spectacular and the summer weather in Creede is perfect (70s during the day and 40s at night). Our site (#121) was level, quite large and all utilities worked well. If they just banned the loud and stinky UTVs (they have no federal emissions requirements, which is odd since they can legally drive on public roads in certain cities/states) this park would be considerably nicer. And yes, the resort side still has gravel roads and UTVs are still allowed.

This park is located on the Rio Grande River and offers access for fishing with a Colorado state fishing license. There is also a private stocked trout pond that can be fished for a fee that does not require a license. This RV park is near many Rio Grande National Forest access roads for recreational purposes. The small town of Creede has several restaurants and a grocery store, although we did not try them due to COVID-19. While here we:
