Creede, CO – We hiked the Colorado Trail/Continental Trail west from Spring Creek Pass for about 4.2 miles (each direction). This is considered Section 22 of the Colorado Trail. Spring Creek Pass is located at 10,898 feet elevation. To head west, the trail leaves from the parking area and climbs steadily. Over 4.2 miles, the CT/CDT climbs up to Jarosa Mesa at 12,030 feet for a gain of about 1,100 feet. Along the climb, there was a very short section below tree level and then the rest was above treeline with expansive views.
