Enfield, NC – A quick and easy one night stop off I-95 with level and long pull through sites. That’s the positive. The negative is they are experiencing known power issues on sites #3 and #4 (two of the four 50 AMP pull throughs in the campground) as of December 1, 2017. Did they tell us this when we checked in? No. So we hooked up power and within an hour my power management system shut down power to the coach because leg 1 was only 85 volts. In a few minutes it went back to 120V and all was well…until it dropped back to 85V a few minutes later. I noticed the guy in the coach in site #4 was also fiddling with his power and was experiencing the same problem.

We talked with the lady in the office and she revealed this has been an ongoing issue and no one has been able to fix it. She offered us $5 off and told us the 30 AMP plug worked fine. As we’re staying only 1 night and the temps are reasonable, 30 AMP is acceptable. After hooking up my 30-50 AMP adapter we were in business. Not so fast! A little after 6 PM power went out completely on both the 30 and 50 AMP hookups. Zero power. And of course the office closed at 6 PM. My neighbor in site #4 decided to run his generator all night. I decided to test the 15 AMP outlet and it still worked, so I added a 15-30 adapter to my 30-50 adapter and we were fine all night long.

Rocky Mount KOA

Our site was wide enough, but was having electrical issues

I have to ding the rating because the office was not upfront about their existing and known power issues. That is just poor customer service and ensures we’ll never return.

The pull through sites were very long
