Eugene, OR – Nestled in a quiet, wooded setting near the interstate, this park has contrasting reviews depending on the length of your RV. Designed and built back in the 90s when monster RVs were rarely seen, this park struggles to handle a 45’ motorhome in many sites. But for a 36’ RV this park is great. One tip for owners of big rigs: pay extra for a premium site, which are also pull throughs. You’ll have a much easier time with ingress/egress. We stayed here September 29 through October 2, 2017 just before having our solar system installed at AM Solar.

Our standard site was a back-in which was difficult to get into due to a tree without driving off of the pavement

Most sites had tracks through the grass demonstrating the difficulty of entering the sites

Being a cheapskate I opted for the standard sites, which are all back-ins. Note the backing is not the problem. It’s the lack of swing space for the front end (due to trees) and no paved aprons at the front of each site that causes issues. Our site, #19, is one of the sites a 45’ owner will not be happy with. There is a tree exactly where the front of the coach needs to be in order to back in the site without driving on grass. I made 4 attempts before resorting to driving in the grass. Sadly, due to ever present rain in Western Oregon, a 50,000 pound vehicle leaves very deep ruts in wet grass. I would feel sad for the owners except for 2 facts: 1) they put me in this site knowing we have a 45’ motorhome and 2) extending the width of the paved site aprons would prevent this. Walking around the park I noticed many sets of deep ruts in the grass right next to the front of the site. This is an easy problem to solve.

Our site was plenty wide but the hook-ups were at the very back making for long runs

Typical of most back-in sites the hookups require long runs, but I was able to mange without using additional hoses or cables. Once safely ensconced in the site this is a great park. The lack of noise is remarkable given it’s less than a half a mile from I-5. All utilities worked well and the water pressure was nice and stable at 60 psi.

We fit with the tires at the back of the pavement with the rear end overhanging a ditch. Luckily the Jeep is not very long or we would have extended into the one lane road.

The “patio” area did not line up with our stairs, even though we were as far back as possible, which meant walking through and bringing grass and mud into the RV.
