The next Tiffin dealer took up right where the first one left off, at least in terms of long waits and no updates. On the first day of ownership (still in the parking lot), we found two burned out light bulbs and a faulty propane regulator (i.e., no propane appliance worked). Mind you, the salesman made a big deal about their “best in class” RV prep and that they go over everything with “a fine tooth comb”. I question the spacing between tines on that comb.
We bring the RV back after the first trip with the usual list of things that don’t work/broke over the past few months. After delays and no updates about those delays, we finally get a call — not that our coach is ready, but that they have lost the keys, could we please bring in another set? I say keys plural because RVs seem to require an inordinate amount of keys. A quick count of what keys were lost: ignition key, door key, deadbolt key, baggage door key, Blue Ox tow lock key and fresh water gravity fill key. So we drove our extra set to the dealer and head home.
Another week later (yes, it apparently takes an entire week to copy keys), we pick up the newly minted set of keys and attempt to drive home. What is that? The new ignition key doesn’t even fit into the ignition! No one tested the copies! I should be shocked, but I’m just numb to it all by now.
