Groveland, CA – If you read enough forums about the drive up to here, you’ll run across the name “New Priest Pass”. People whisper the name with reverence as if it’s a right of passage for big rig drivers the world over. I’ll admit all this talk of negotiating the tight curves and steep inclines caused some amount of nervousness. Then I drove up and have no idea what people are talking about. If I never read a word about the dreaded New Priest Pass I would never given it a second thought.
The campground is clean and situated in a beautiful wooded setting, the sites are large and have easy access. One huge plus for our cat was the amount of song birds in the trees abutting our site. Note the drive into the heart of Yosemite is about an hour each way.
