– Located on the banks of the Sandy Creek near the little town of Troutdale, Oregon, this park is convenient to Portland, the Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood National Forest and a day trip to Mt. St. Helen’s National Volcanic Monument (across the river on the Washington side). The spaces are a little tight and the setting is a bit sterile (concrete pads, tons of RVs, few trees between spaces), but the campground itself is surrounded by trees, there is a nice park across the street and you can walk to town for dinner.

There are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores and any other type store you may need in the area.

The Sandy River is popular for steelhead fishing.
