Yellowstone NP, WY – One of my favorite reasons to visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton is the opportunity to see a wide range of wildlife in their natural surroundings. Our focus for this trip was hiking, but I still managed to view some wildlife on our drives to and from trailheads. From the roads, I spotted: bison, mule deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear, grizzly bear, eagles, and sandhill cranes. Here are some of my favorite photos taken this trip:

We did not see a lot of animals on our hikes, but this is likely due to the noise (talking) we make while hiking to warn any grizzly bears of our presence. While hiking, we spotted mule deer, bison, pronghorn, osprey, eagles, and sandhill cranes. Additionally, we spotted tracks and scat from bears, wolves, moose, and elk.
