Niantic, CT – A nice option for an overnight stop for travelers along I-95 in mid Connecticut. Regular readers of this blog know I’m a sucker for hiking trails, especially ones directly accessible from a campground. At this KOA, just across the street from site 7A, is access to Rocky Neck State Park, located on the Long Island Sound with a few miles of trails, both in forests and along the beach. A perfect way to stretch travel weary legs before retiring for the evening. Our site was long and level and all utilities worked well. The only downside is a high number of long term residents in shabby trailers.
