After months of planning, it’s time to leave for our Canada/Alaska 2016 trip.  We left May 12 and will be away through early October. This map has our estimated route shown.

 

The rough Itinerary totals about 8,000 miles for the RV:

  • Cross Canadian Border into Alberta from Montana’s I-15
  • Banff, Yoho, and  Jasper National Parks, including Lake Louise & Icefields Parkway
  • Begin Alaska Highway
  • Whitehorse, Yukon
  • Side trip to Dawson City, Yukon
  • Cross border into Alaska
  • Wrangell-St. Elias National Park
  • Valdez
  • Kenai Peninsula: Hope/Whittier/Seward/Soldotna/Homer
  • Anchorage/Palmer/Wasilla
  • Denali State & National Parks
  • Fairbanks
  • North of Arctic Circle/Dalton Highway
  • Cross back into Canada- Yukon
  • Kluane National Park
  • Side trips to Haines & Skagway, Alaska
  • British Columbia (BC)
  • Stewart, BC/Hyder, Alaska/Prince Rupert, BC
  • Vancouver, BC
  • Cross home into United States- Washington’s I-5
  • North Cascades National Park
  • Seattle, Washington & Mt. Ranier National Park
