Bozeman, MT – In 2015, we stayed at this beautiful campground for 6 days as part of the hiking trip around Bozeman. It’s close to I-90 for overnight travelers, but also close to Bozeman for those visiting longer. This campground is priced less than most campgrounds we stay at, yet still offers everything we could want. A great value indeed. We returned for 9 nights in 2017.
Don’t miss an amazing chocolatier in town called La Châtelaine Chocolat. Just ignore the prices, you’re on vacation. I’m so happy to find they treat hot chocolate like the French do, like a work of culinary art for grown ups, not a packet full of dehydrated powder for kids. I would literally return to Bozeman just to go back to this place.
If you’re a geek like me, be sure to check out the American Computer Museum at the Montana State University. For dinosaur enthusiasts, the Museum of the Rockies is well worth the trip. We summarized our visits to these in our Megabites and Megabytes post. We also took a day trip to the Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park where we toured their fabulous limestone cavern.
Bozeman offers recreational access to: the Madison Range in the Gallatin National Forest, Bridger Bowl area and is only a hop, skip and a jump away from Yellowstone National Park. Yellowstone offers hiking and excellent wild life watching. Bozeman is a college town and has some really good restaurants, grocery stores and access to hardware & outdoor stores, etc.
