Boulder, WY – A refreshing respite from the high priced RV parks of Yellowstone and Jackson. This park is not located near anything touristy, which was perfect as we were exploring the nearby Wind River Range, Bridger Teton National Forest and Shosone National Forest. The sites are long, the rows are wide and the trees are evergreen. We had the place to ourselves, with only a smattering of sites occupied. Boulder has a gas station/convenience store. For more amenities, travel 11.5 miles north to the town of Pinedale which has a good sized grocery store, hardware store, outdoor gear store, numerous restaurants, and more. Our first visit was in August 2013.
UPDATE: We returned here August 13-21, 2020. The park was slightly busier than our prior visit but still offered great views of the Wind River Range. During our 2020 trip, we day hiked the following trails:
