Las Cruces, NM – KOA chose a nice location for an RV park, perched up on a semi-secluded hill overlooking Las Cruces while still being only a 10 minute drive away. The charming and historic town of Mesilla is even closer, with a Mexican restaurant we highly recommend called Andele! The salsa bar and tortilla chips are reason enough to go. We also took an enjoyable day trip to White Sands National Monument and Organ Mountains – Desert Peaks National Monument. We also took an evening stroll along the Rio Grande River.

Our site was plenty wide, but a little close to the neighbors

Sunset views of the Organ Mountains from our site

We stayed for 2 nights in a “view” site, a premium $5/night option that affords a panoramic view of the city and the Organ Mountains. The sunsets are picture perfect. Note these view sites are back-in only. If you’re only staying a few nights and don’t mind unhooking I recommend paying the few bucks extra. The sites are plenty long — a 45’ bus next to us had no problems fitting — but you’re quite close to your neighbors. I noted the pull through spaces were large enough to permit easy egress without unhooking the toad.
