Hope, BC – Running an RV park doesn’t seem like priority #1 here. We called three times to make a reservation and the person who answered each time was not able to make reservations (they needed “approval” from a manager) and said we would get a call back. We never received a call. That should have been our first clue. When we arrived, they put us in site #7, which, after driving the motorhome through small and narrow roads with low hanging branches, we found to be occupied. The people in site #7 said they had been here 2 weeks and were staying another 2 weeks and that the office should know that. Back in the office, amazement was expressed that people are still in #7. More amazing was their response, “well, chose site #9 or #11 or any other site that is empty, and you don’t need to come back to tell me which site you took”.  And that is clue #2.

The roads are barely wider than one lane

The site we finally chose was long and level and the hookups worked well. The only downside was leftover trash littered around the site. It’s unfortunate because the location for this RV park is stunning, located right off the Trans Canadian Highway in the Fraser River Canyon, in the midst of stands of mature poplar and spruce trees with mountains looming in all directions. The park itself is terraced across multiple levels up a steep hillside, with generally large sites. With a little tree trimming and better organization, this could be a 5 star park.

Our site was wide and long, but had trash laying around
