Palmer, AK – Centrally located between Wasilla and Palmer, this RV park provides a good home base for exploring the central Mat-Su valley. From here we hiked in the Chugach and Talkeetna Mountains and learned about the Iditarod, Musk Ox and Alaska Tansportation and Industry.
The spaces are long, fairly wide and level and the hookups worked well. There are great views of the Chugach mountains to the south and the Talkeetnas to the north. While the main highway (Parks Highway) is close by and conveniently accessible, road noise is minimal.
Big Bear RV Park had a small tree on the one side, but it did not impede our slide
